Risk Plaza Certificatrion

Risk Plaza

Verstegen Spices & Sauces BV was officially certified for RiskPlaza in 2012. RiskPlaza is a database with information about the food safety of ingredients.

Information about the RiskPlaza certificate

RiskPlaza contains information about the dangers that can be attached to ingredients and the control measures that can be taken to control these dangers.

The purpose of RiskPlaza is to relieve the business community of work in securing food safety for ingredients. This is done by:

– provide the food chain with simple and transparent insight into the hazards that can occur in ingredients;
– provide insight into the management of these hazards;
– to raise control of food safety assurance to a higher level.

The RiskPlaza audit was conducted by the company LIoyds. During a RiskPlaza audit +, a certifying institution (CI) performs a supplementary audit at a participating company on top of the already present food safety certificate (HACCP, IFS, BRC, ISO 22,000, FSSC 22000 or an approved hygiene code). This additional RiskPlaza audit + is aimed at safeguarding the food safety of ingredients. During the audit, a company must be able to demonstrate that the potential hazards of ingredients are controlled. Suppliers can have the control of the hazards of ingredients included in RiskPlaza tested by certification bodies from 2008 onwards. If the assurance is in order, the company will be included in the list of RiskPlaza audit + companies. The RiskPlaza audit + is performed during or after the regular food safety audit (HACCP, BRC, IFS, ISO 22,000, FSSC 22000 or approved hygiene code). The frequency of the RiskPlaza audit + is the same as that of the regular food safety audits. A maximum of one RiskPlaza audit + per year has to be carried out per company.
